Echoes of Absence
After his wife’s sudden death from a heart attack, Daniel, a perennially absent father due to work, finds himself struggling to connect with his 3-year-old son, Max. The unfamiliarity between them initially breeds friction, but as days pass, Max begins to adapt to life without his mother, his understanding and resilience growing in her absence.
However, Daniel soon observes a peculiar pattern: after kindergarten, Max consistently heads to the neighbor’s house. Initially, Daniel dismisses this as mere childlike whimsy, but as the visits become more frequent, doubt creeps in. Did his wife frequently take Max there? One day, consumed by frustration, Daniel confronts Max, sternly warning him against these visits. Yet, the very next day, Max defies him, prompting Daniel to follow, driven to unravel this mystery.
