On this day, she was rushed by ambulance from the local central hospital to a major medical center in Guangzhou, in search of advanced medical care. Her weight had soared to a staggering 110 kilograms, a figure made even more shocking by the fact that 60 kilograms of it was the weight of her abdomen alone.
Renea’s condition was extreme. Her abdomen was so distended it was stretched paper-thin, the skin taut to its limits, with a web of veins visible beneath. The sheer size and weight of her belly were not just a physical anomaly but a life-threatening burden, necessitating urgent and specialized medical attention.
